    Geauxtigers and flynnibus, I agree and see a difference. I guess the police would have to guess what's in the heart of the offender - timidness or selfishness. In the instance of my neighbor, I know she is just a careful and sometimes anxious driver, so I know her intent is good. That little intersection can definitely be hectic at times, and we've all seen accidents there...

    I'd rather have the police focus on people speeding through neighborhoods, or weaving in and out of traffic, than trying to figure out if someone is just taking a more convenient path...

    ** High Priority **

    The Waxpool Plans are still being finalized. There is still the final review and a preparation of the bid package to accomplish before it can go out to bid. Actual construction will probably start next year."""""""""

    Charles is in charge of these projects and money does NOT seem to be the problem. It seems more to be the slow wheels of government. Can't wait until hopefully the good neighbor developers take over again a we get some roads built if the BOS learns to work with them and cut the red tape to get the road puzzle built and solved once and for all. You can't tax the residents enough to pay for roads or schools. Looks grim for roads and schools perhaps until the the metro is out here in ten years and something is done to solve the energy problems. The far suburbs are the first to decline and the last to recover during these kinds of crisis.

    I update my doomsday forecast as some of you like to call it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it looks even grimmer then I thought for roads, schools and loudoun recovery. Just look at that 35 million dollar boondoggle sitting right there on ashburn villge and waxpool and the one next door. A victim of being a bad neighbor developer and the economy. Here is their problem do they take a chance and lock themselves into cheap leases that will not pay for the debt service or maintenance on the buildings now or let it stay empty for a miracle in the economy which I do not believe will happen. These yobbos perhaps should of walked next door and took a look and saw those buildings that are over half empty in a good economy and they build more of them. That is what you call bad neighbor developer arrogance and just plain stupidity arrogance.

    Schools roads and services will be on the decline for a lot of years in this county. Of course BOS Andrea Mckinsey thinks the state will pay for roads ha ha ha I hope she is looking at Virginia's latest special session. The big good neighbor developers have the money and can foot the bill for many things in this county. Just look at all the construction of roads at One Loudoun and soon two new interchanges at rt 7 just because of them. That Lori Waters knows how to get things done. And I bet her vote will be the one that will stop the new hospital from being built. Paybacks are hell !!!!!! I hope our BOS is listening to Kincora for one or we will end up with no proffers from them and just more traffic and headaches and our tax dollars will have to finish the road grid over there such as Gloucester and if that happens we won't see those roads in our lifetime.

    We used to have the good old days here it is very sad to see how our public planners are ruining much of the good our private planners by good neighbor developers have done.

    We believe we had enough funding when we add some revenue sharing funds.""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

    So looks like the slow wheels of government is the culprit again!!!!!!

    Saw this in the Leesburg Today. Looks grim for roads in this county anytime in the next many many years. Unless you can get a developer to build it looks like it will not get built. Want to help waxpool the BOS should quickly work with Kincora to get gloucester through instead of looking at them like the enemy. Proper cooperation between developers and the government can do wonders. The key word here is proper which was not done with the last board.

    And a quote from the article;

    """""""But Laycock told her there was nothing that could be done at this point to fund the needed improvements on Waxpool Road. "These things are such big tickets items. There's nothing in here that's going to fix Waxpool," she said.""""""""""""""""

    Afgm you are probably correct. Because from the article our county government does not have a clue how to get the road mess fixed without developer help who they ran against. They are in a catch 22. Opportunities for roads and mainly each individual road has a certain life of opportunity. Don't take advantage of that particular opportunity when it arises eventually it disappears and has to come again.

    Gloucester is a good example there was opportunity to get it built quick thru a developer as well as some other key connections which would of helped waxpool. That opportunity is now gone. THat opportunity is about to rise again from Kincora and we will see if this BOS has it in them to negociate another beautiful development with gloucester and other key roads to be built up front lots of park land and some badly needed urban housing for the singles and married without children. Or do they blow it and we get another ton of industrial with no key roads and we destroy another opportunity for some major class A business to move into the county in a live work and play enviorment. The continuing sucess of the brambleton town center with that beautiful park leading up to it in the middle of nowhere should be a prime example of what can be done and if you build and plan it right they will come. A wonderful walking enviorment to engage your neighbors or just people watching or dining movies or just shopping. ANd the best is yet to come there after a slightly slow start. Design at it's best. :happygrin:

    Waxpool Road improvement from Ashburn Rd to Verizon campus is out.
    The $5,000,000 that was allocated for it was just cut out due to the state's politicians inability to come up with a road financing plan.
    Way to go Richmond!

    And here I thought with the amount of change from the last election things would be different.

    To show that I am fair, I will state it here. Lee was right about the roads. Looks like he is right about the housing market as well. Props to Lee. Just like a clock, he's gotta be right twice a day :)
