I just left a message for HOA but thought maybe someone here could give us some input. A month or two ago we had a star right by the curb (but on the street) and they (I'm not even sure who they is) came and dug a hole of some sort and then put everything back together (in a really bad way). Today they were out there at 7:50 AM tearing up our perfectly good curb. This time I went out and asked what they were doing. I was told our curb was broken and they were going to fix/replace it. HUH? There wasn't a thing wrong with it...no cracks and certainly not broken. Now, the man didn't speak very good English but he very clearly told me my curb was broken and needed to be fixed. Sure, it's broken now because you just took a jackhammer to it! I've seen them break up and replace the sidewalk and replace the sidewalk but the path behind our house several times over the past few months. Again, there wasn't a darn thing wrong with it. Can someone tell me why? Are they trying to get more money because it makes absolutely NO sense at all.

On a side note, how early are they allowed to start working up on the new strip mall (Harris Teeter)? They were out there being very loud at 6:13AM!!

    I'm on Bramblebush!

    Thanks!

It sounds like they are doing the concrete work (fixing issues) to progress towards paving the street and turning over to VDOT/HOA (Bramblebush - townhouse? = HOA) If this is the case the developers paying not the HOA. Even though you didnt see anything someone did - either developer or the state when they reviewed. But as long as its the developer paying no big deal.

Thanks! Wes was a huge help! Thank you, Wes!

The sidewalked looked nice until someone decide to write in the wet cement. I'm pretty sure I know who did it. Unfortunately, I didn't catch them in the act.

I heard the construction this morning, too. I always get the sound ordinances mixed up, but I don't think they're supposed to start work until 7am (they can be getting ready at 6am). I'm sure Wes or Supervisor Snow could put a bug in Van Metre's ear to make sure their contractors play by the rules.
