Thanks for all the input! We decided on Dr Casagrande, but would have gone with Wiger if it wasn't for how they schedule. Since we are looking at two kids needing braces, Wiger schedules appointments by age and not by availability. So, my 12 year old was able to get an appointment in late August and the 10 year old was looking at late September. Since every appointment is four hours of leave from work for me, I'm looking at taking double the leave with Wiger than someone else.

Not sure why Wiger schedules this way, but is definately inconvenient enough for us that we know it just wouldn't work for us. If we were looking at just one child it probably would be a different story.......

Time for a six-month update? We love our pediatric dentist, Dr. Skordalakis, and he recommended either Wiger or Cassagrande. I guess it sounds like most people get a consult at both? Everyone still happy with them both?

    Thanks.

Yep, still hands down, recommending Wiger Orthodontics! After talking to my friends and neighbors who go there, we all agree that Dr. Wiger not only has a lot of experience but he's a man of integrity--and that's saying a whole lot! Plus the staff is real friendly and our kids love going there.:2thumbs:

Wiger Orthodontics also supports our community. They donate water and other things to help support Flicks in the Sticks during the summer months, as well as other events.

I'll again cast my vote for Casagrande. I now have 3 kids in braces and would be three seperate appointments and schedules at Wiger, so much easier at Dr Casangrande.

I don't think your experience is the norm. I know several friends and family that have two or more in braces with Dr. Wiger and he always tries to see them at the same time. I'm going to personally ask the front desk about this when I'm there since I am now in ortho treatment myself.

Its not the number of kids...its the ages of the kids. I was told they don't schedule those of elementary school age at the same time as those in middle school, etc.

Maybe he changed. I told him that was the reason we couldn't go with his service. Seemed crazy to take leave from work two seperate days so both kids could get an appointment with the only difference being they were three grades apart.

    Good luck!

FWIW, Dr. Wiger is a big supporter of the kids in the neighborhood; Swim teams and several other sports.

Is Dr. D still a recommendation out there in addition to Casagrande & Wiger? Have a to-be 8yo who needs an eval and I know ortho is in her future.

    Thanks!!!!

I would still recommend Dr. D. and his staff as they were great with our 10 yr old who just got her braces removed.

Did you have any issues with their office only being open in Ashburn on Tuesdays & Thursdays? Wiger's scheduling seems to be an issue for some, so wondering if it's something similar for Dr. D. Thanks :).

No problems and in fact looking back at the calendar most of our appointments were on Tuesdays and Thursdays. In addition to our 10 yr old, our 15 yr. old son and 17 yr old daughter went to him and we never had an issue with Dr. D. and he was always willing to work with us especially when it came to our son.
