How is everyones connection tonight? I talked to Khalil this morning on the phone and he was genuinely disturbed by the problem and trying to resolve it today.

My connection is better tonight, but still not acceptable.

I think that's BS - especially since the problem popped up while you were offline. Do you have a Linksys router on your end? If so, turn on the log and point it to your IP and record everything. At least you can have some proof it's not you.

ya, i know its BS, he accused me of sending out "unwanted data" due to a virus he claims is on my computer. the only thing he had to show was 2 icmps coming from my computer at 0606 on monday morning....LOL, the funny thing is that my computer wasnt even on. I think he also accused MgD of the same thing and he doesnt even own an MS system.... LOL. So hes clearly grasping for something.
I used to use a linksys, but the switch backplanes on those tend go bad just after the 1 year warranty is over. I bought a D-Link router w/wireless capabilites (has 3 yr warranty) and love it. Its more powerful and more configurable. It works great.
Ya, I already proved to him im not the problem, but refuses to "unthrottle" my bandwidth. He has made me very angry.

Slightly off topic, but what applications does everyone currently run over Verolan? I bought the service so I could do whatever I wanted to over it, but I've had to seriously cut back on what I do ever since Khalil throttled me back when because I was running bittorent. Anyone else run bittorrent? With new game demos, patches, movies coming out I've found (at least when on Adelphia) bitorrent was the easiest way to get them - especially since I don't subscribe to premium game sites. Not being able to run bittorrent is going to be a serious matter soon if this stays unresolved. Other things I currently run: Dark Age of Camelot (online game), webserver, vpn, then basic apps like AIM, YahooIM, websurfing.

What is bittorent? is it a peer to peer thing like mesh?
I used to run an online game server for quake3, which was the only reason I went w/Verolan was for the high upload bandwidth, but I could never do it because there was so many retransmits between me and verolan's router nobody could play w/out packet loss and high ping spikes.
Most of what I do now is ftp, quake 3, msn, webserver (sometimes), I did dabble with a linux server from home w/apache, proftpd, DNS, email and game server, but have now bought a dedicated server because of the current issues w/Verolan. But most of my usage is online gaming so latency and packet loss are HUGE issues to me.

BT is a p2p app used mostly for warez, mp3s, movies, tv episodes, etc. Occasionally for legit stuff like demos, linux distros, yadda yadda. =)

I use Azureus as my BT client and sometimes get up to 300k/s.... it's pretty nice.

Hey common now, I've never gotten anything but legit demos and movies from BT. Only reason I brought it up was because just a few weeks ago I needed to download the Foundations expansion to Dark Age of Camelot. Of all the blasted download sites (http://www.camelotherald.com/housing/downloads.php) only one had a functioning link that didn't require me to have a paid account to their site - IGN. That link was bitorrent-like P2P clone. I didn't want to use a P2P app and mess up the tower again. I finally found the file on a google search on some other website that hosted it. :)

As you exit truro parish road in the broadlands onto belmont ridge rd. Take a left and go about 1-2miles and the tower is near that little church. You can actually see the tower as you nearing the end of truro parish.
I think he said he had about 12megs of bandwidth (8 T1s). I dont know the subscribership, but I think he makes most of his money via the business accts. Last I thought he said about residential is about 40, I could be wrong and that was months ago.

Lancelot / Albion. I played when the game first came out for 4-5 months then quit. Came back when TOA was released, got a lot of friends online that play so I joined them.

Recently, I've been using my connection only for email and web. I run my own mail server and a low end web server as well.

Two nights ago, I was actually able to use iTunes to listen to streaming music, but the connection still has fits and stalls. I've found that when a download a stream stalls, I can get it going again by getting another application to generate traffic on the network....eg. ping wakes the download up.

One application I require for work (Groove.net) was indicated by Khalil as crashing the network. It us a peer to peer collaborative environment and it is a heavy bandwidth user. I've not used it in two weeks, so I need the network stable enough I can start again.

Anyone else having connection problems right now? I'm getting 150-600ms pings to Yahoo and high packet loss.

Edit: Sent Khalil email, shortly after it went back down to normal 20ms pings.

Well I can't deal with this, the problems obviously cannot be solved. I can't run the applications I want to run and can't use the bandwidth I need. Being throttled back again like this with no notice whatsoever really burns me. Back to Adelphia and to contemplate sharing a T1 again.
