Wireless Update 2-12-03

The Web Committee met last night and discussed in detail plans on new wireless services. Some of the many items included speed tiers, bandwidth management, customer equipment, installations and time tables among many other items. This weekend the broadband team will begin testing the service out. We will be testing bandwidth to both the internet and to other locations within the Broadlands, security, latency, networking and signal levels among others. Our team is expected to complete testing in one month.

The Web Committee and our provider have developed a new survey to better gauge interest and services that the wireless network will require. Our last survey was done well over a year ago, and things have changed since then so we're asking everyone to take a couple minutes and complete this survey (the questions have remained the same although a few were taken out). All information will only be used by the Web Committee and our provider, no information will be shared otherwise. Be sure to tell your Broadlands friends and neighbors about this survey!

Just an update on the wireless testing. So far the weather has not been kind to us on the weekend, the first being snowed out and the second being rained out. Hopefully this weekend will be better.
