CWC will have their routers up on the tower during the first week of August. At that point, CWC and the Web Committee will begin beta testing signal levels within the Broadlands community. We will be noting spots that have great levels of signal to those that are very low (hopefully all of Broadlands will have good signal levels, but those with trees in the path to the AP will have a loss) that could require external antennas for connection. We will also be testing different types of hardware to get on the network (just not on the internet), as well as the process of signing up for service, transferring files at full speed within the broadlands community, and a few other things.

Verizon, if they keep to their schedule, is supposed to have the local loop turned on mid-august. At that time CWC and the Web Commmittee will beta test the internet connections and do some stress tests on the service.

If all goes well, CWC expects general service will begin very shortly thereafter.

At this time beta testing is only open to members of the web committee, if we need more people we will post on here.

    John
