Anyone else experience spell checking not working in Word 2007 running in VISTA. App is set to check spelling as I type as well as ensured that my dictionaries are correct. Still, I do not get the red marks identifying misspelled words nor does manually running spell check catch the errors.

    I'm Stumped.

    Buy a Mac.

Now, with that piece of useless advice out of the way, did Word ever work on your PC? I did a quick Google, and your problem doesn't appear to be isolated.

Hounding work to give me one but they are tightening our IT budget. Word 2007 does work in Vista if you do not mind it crashing every 30 minutes or so. Did a google search too and could not find a solution that was workable for my configuration.

    Ahhh well.

Try OpenOffice. It's free, it works well, it handles Microsoft formats, and best of all it's not Microsoft.

Word 2007 works fine for me... spell check included. It doesn't crash every 30mins for me, but I don't use it extensively.

Problem solved. Spell checking plug-in must have been disabled during one of my many crashes, which I do admit does not happen as often as it used to. Just needed to re-enable it but not an easy setting to find.
