WoW

Over the last ten days I was doing the stress test beta for World of Warcraft. I have to say ... WOW.

I'm very impressed with the gameplay, the interface, the storylines ... I will be moving from Dark Age to WoW when it goes retail. Hopefully many of you will be there also.

I didn't think I would like the game, but I think it will create a new standard for MMPORPGs.

I'm in the closed beta for WoW, it's a lot of fun!

I'm still not sure about moving from DAOC, however. Blizzard still has yet to disclose their plans for RvR and PvP (right now it's just enabled for basic PvP). They say they have a lot planned but with 2 months to go... they better get it enabled fast for testing.

But everything else blows daoc away.

Ive never been able to get into the MMORPG, mostly cause of the monthly costs in addition to the cost of the game. Ive seen tons of people get involved in these and they get easily addicted, which is another reason for me to avoid...
I have heard WoW is very good and the stress testing is overwith. Ive also heard Advanced Dungeons and Dragons and Lord of the Rings will also being coming out with MMORPG very shortly. Id like to see the AD&D and how that looks. Too bad we cant setup our own MMORPG servers for free and let others use them, that would be something I could get into.

On a semi-related note: The Tech Committee is meeting tonight at 7:30pm in the Community Center. One thing we will be planning is the next LAN Gaming day. We're looking at Star Wars Battlefront so far as the game. Please come, free pizza!
