Thought you were an OpenBand resident? How can you get Comcast when OB has blanket easements?

We tried the Xfinity from the door to door sales guy. He gave a quote of $135/mo for the first year and $155 in year two. It was cheaper than our FiOS service - now at ~$185. We went back to FiOS after a week.

    Xfinity was not as good:
Only the main movie channels were in HD (i.e. HBO but not HBO2)
    No 30 sec skip ahead
Slower internet (did not measure - qualitative assessment)
Series recording was not as flexible
The guide has an advertisement at the bottom that you need to go through to get to the next page.

    All-in-all not as good.

I have upgraded the FiOS DVR box to 500 GB and it is better.

30sec skip is there - just not on the standard remote
the add on the bottom you don't have to go through - use the page down command instead of scrolling manually

    just fyi

We had one of the 'yellow' safety vest people come to our door a few weeks back and I had a similar experience with many of you [Note: They are a subcontractor to Comcast -- they're not even Comcast employees] . In our case, it was a 40/50ish woman with bad hair. Clearly she didn't know anything about technology, nor was she prepared to answer any questions that were not on her 'script'. She didn't even have a polished pitch -- I was embarrassed for her, frankly. She gave me a hard sell and said everyone in the neighborhood was switching to Xfinity. Given my prior experience with Comcast, Adelphia before that and a friend in Gaithersburg who hates his Comcast (Xfinity) service (and he does not have a FiOS option), I told her we were not interested.

We took all our stuff back after the "latest" mess. A month later someone called me said wow that never should have happened let me take care of it...

I'll bet they wish they had reserved this domain name:
